Thank you to EVERYONE who responded to the Lord’s prompting to give to our 2014 Dominican Republic mission trip! The day before the trip, God provided the remaining funds needed to complete our $16,000 goal through our giving Brothers and Sisters in Christ! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah!!!
The Kahleh’s Fundraiser for Dominican Republic Mission Trip:
What’s the mission trip about?
The mission trip is with another non-profit organization called: Athletic International Missions (AIM). God has given AIM miraculous favor over the past few years. For His own purpose and glory God has seen fit to assemble a bunch of “ragamuffins” to touch the lives of thousands of children, hundreds of coaches, and scores of pastors in the Dominican Republic and Cuba. Soon we will begin work in Guatemala. We’ve had the privilege of giving away over half-a-million dollars of used/new sports equipment. Served tens-of-thousands of hotdogs to hungry kids. Trained hundreds of brilliant volunteer coaches, who have now formed a Christian sports association with 100% national leadership. We’ve had the privilege of helping orphanages, schools, churches with all kinds of needs and projects – we call this “collateral missions”. We provided medical care for more than 1,000 kids, and conducted nutritional seminars. In short, AIM is doing whatever God puts in front of us that allows us to express how much we love Him and how much Jesus loves people.
Our camps in the Dominican Republic this year had 7,000 kids participate. We served nearly 20,000 hotdogs in two weeks. Cuba has 26 leagues with amazing Christian coaches expecting nearly 2,000 kids to participate this summer. And who knows what opportunities God will place before us as we continue to be “out of the boat” with Him.
AIM is also teaming up with other great ministries like the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), SCORE International, Christian Sports Medicine Alliance, and others to multiply our efforts to share the Gospel around the world.
Date of trip: June 10-17, 2014
Funds needed: $16,000 total for the whole Kahleh family of 8
